Melbourne and Central Highlands artist creating intimate oil portraits and paintings that honour memory, feeling, and the beauty of shared moments.

Drawing on her background as a Registered Nurse, Alice brings a quiet anatomical understanding to her practice, where the architecture of the body meets the subtleties of emotion. Her paintings dwell on the threshold between the anatomical and the intimate, a space where light lingers on skin, form carries feeling, and emotion becomes tangible through paint.Working in the lineage of classical oil painting, Alice honours traditional mastery while finding new resonance within it today. Introduced to the medium by her father, a classically trained painter, her lifelong engagement with portraiture is both a study in skill and an act of devotion. It is a process of sustained observation through which character slowly emerges. Her work explores intimacy, commemoration, longing, and queer tenderness, along with moments of nostalgia and memory suspended in colour. Each portrait becomes a study in connection, an attempt to hold what might otherwise fade: the angle of light across a beloved face, the gentle structure of intertwined hands, the quiet persistence of love.Alice completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) in 2020 and a Master’s degree in Nursing soon after, merging clinical precision with painterly sensitivity. This dual training informs her awareness of structure, tone, and touch, creating a continuous dialogue between anatomy and emotion that shapes her artistic language.Practice & OfferingsAlice creates commemorative portraits and figurative works that blend classical technique with emotional depth.
